- When you will
click on Accounts, a new window will open. Click on Mail tab.
- Click
on Add and then on Mails
- Now
an Internet Connection Wizard will be opened. Type in your User ID in the
Display Name
- Click
Next
- The
step 2 of the wizard consists of a textbox of Email address where you will
have to type down your AKUNET email address. (For example in the
print screen shown the format of the email address will be your userid@akunet.org
or abc@akunet.org)
- Click
Next
- In
the next pane, the incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server will be: pop.akunet.org.
The Outgoing (SMTP) server will be: smtp.akunet.org
- Click
Next
- Click
on Log on using....where the POP account name will be: User ID (for
example abc). The Password can be anything in alphanumeric code. Remember
that the password will be displayed only in asteriks (****) as for security
reasons.
- Click
Next
- Now
enter a friendly name, the name that will be shown in Outlook Express. In our
example the friendly name is AKUNET Email.

Click Next
- The
Connection Type will be: Connect using my phone line
- Click
Next
- We
had already made up AKUNET dialer therefore in the next pane we will select
the second option that is: Use an existing dial up connection.
- Click
Next
- This
ends up the wizard. You have successfully entered all the required information!
Click on Finish
- Click
on Mail and then Properties to check whether the settings are properly
configured or not

Click on General tab

- In the place of
Name your user id should be typed in and the email address in the textbox
of Email Address.
- Be
sure to click on: Include this account when doing a full Send and Recieve
- Click on
Servers tab
- Here
the Outgoing mail should be: smtp.akunet.org and Incoming mail should be:
pop.akunet.org
- Similarly,
in Account name you will type your User ID and then the Password
- Click
on Connection tab
- Select
the second option that is: Connect using my phone line
- Click
on Apply
- Now,
in order to send as well as recieve the emails you have to connect on the net
first. For that you have to click Connect located on the Menu bar.
- A dial up
screen will be displayed. Type your User ID in User Name and then the Password.
- Click OK
- You
are now connected to AKUNET. All you have to do now is to click on Compose
Message to start typing your message.
