DIALER FOR WINDOWS 95 & 98

In order to use the Internet the first step is to make AKUNET dialer. All you have to do is to follow the instructions:

  1. Double click on My Computer icon.
  2. Double click on Dial Up Networking
  3. Here an icon of Make  New Connection will be displayed. Double click on it.


  1. Make New Connection Wizard window will be opened. Type the name of AKUNET in the first textbox. In Select a device only the modem configured will be displayed. In our case, the modem configured in our computer is HSP MicroModem 56.
  2. Click Next

  1. Now type in the Area Code number that is 21 and then  AKUNET Universal Access
    Numbers (UAN) that is 13113111, 13113112 or 13113113. The Country code will be selected from the list. It will be Pakistan (92).

  1. Click Next
  2. The Dial Up connection has been made! Click on Finish.

  1. In the Dial Up Networking, there will be an icon of AKUNET. Click RIGHT mouse button once. A drop down menu will be displayed. Click on Properties.

  1. In General tab there will be all the information displayed that you have entered previously. UNCHECK the option of: Use area code and Dialing Properties.

  1. Click on Server Types tab.
  2. Unclick all the options except TCP/IP.
  3. Click on TCP/IP Settings

  1. Click on the first option that is: Server assigned IP address and then on: Server
    assigned name server addresses    .
  2. Click on the last two options that is: Use IP header compression and Use default
    gateway on remote network    .

  1. Click OK

    Congratulations! You have successfully configured the dialer for AKUNET!
